This thing is an absolute piece of garbage. The batteries died and the battery housing was stuck in the flashlight. Trying to remove the little screws and metal plate and just trying to get the battery out broke the thing. Do not buy this

I've had the exact cabinet since 2017, bought from and delivered by Walmart. Total price $145. 7 years later it's holding up just fine, I wipe it down with Pledge every now and then to keep it shiny. No, it's not going to stand up to fire or a crowbar but it looks great and does a fine job of keeping my small arsenal organized.

To make sure the short magazines don’t fall to the bottom you can use some of the foam inserts that you pulled out and cut them so that the short magazines have something to stop them from falling to the bottom.

I had this put away for a while. I put it back on my Glock and now the on off switch just changes one strobe for another, but no steady flashlight. What's up?

First off great video. My example of the SD9VE doesn't have any trouble with the slide staying open on the last round but I do hate that takedown lever (just ordered an aftermarket one). I also hate the plastic guide rod (just ordered a metal aftermarket upgrade as well).

If this is a back up, what does your safe look like?

My sd9 has had 0 issues with last hold open, take down tabs or loose mag. Dont like the plastic rod. Sights meh. Trigger meh. My glock 19 tabs are stiff when sliding both. To take down and sometimes picky with ammo. My sd9 and pt11 eat everything. My pt111 has been flawless in every aspect.

The Smith has a lifetime warranty my friend, very simple send the mags back and get new ones and lock back problem solved. I own several high price guns that had that same mag problem and I sent the mags back to them and they sent me new ones and problem solved. I got that SDVE in both 9mm and 40 and love them both, especially after I put the Apex trigger kit on them, and I do not have any problem with the slides locking back, both have and still work flawlessly. Thanks for the video appreciate u taking your time out for us.

My mother bought the sd9ve in 2016 and her slide locks back every single time after the last round. Im thinking maybe he got a defective gun.

Had my SD9VE 5 years no failures of any kind with brass steel or aluminum. I wish the trigger was an even 7 lbs. Just a good all around gun in my opinion.

I just got my sd9ve and it holds open with no problem with an empty magazine.

I would disagree I owned both and I find Smith & Wesson to be a very good and reputable quality build. Your magazine lock open problem is either in your magazine follower or in the slide lock. It also could also be that the cutout on your magazines where it engages the mag catch is a little low was slightly oversized, it happens it could be a factory defect in the magazine body causing it to ride just to hair lo. I would pay some attention to those areas and I guarantee you'll overcome it. I never had this problem with mine I think it's a fluke. However I did have the problem with a Beretta 92 pattern and it was magazine follower related... not really a big deal or hard to remedy.

Another bonus for the American is that’s it’s an American company, made in America 🇺🇸 Also I heard the American can take reloads/lead I think it’s a pretty gun-especially the cerakote version. I think I’d rather have the.45 ACP version over the 9mm though

The slidelock thingy sounds like an issue with the magazine, rather than the gun itself. I've had guns that didn't lock open on empty, and it was always a magazine issue

What about those shelves? They come with that cabinet?
